Warriors The four clans Book I
Prologue Night had fallen and only the sound of crickets chirping was heard. A bright yet shadowy figure swooped across the fields.Then more suddenly appeared,of all the colors.A ginger tom striped with black flicked it's tail as a sign of battle.The felines launched themselves into a fierce battle with other cats.Blood spilled on the stones and ground as one of them cried for help.
"What are you doing in Waterclan territory?"Asked Flamerain,pin- ning another one to the ground.
"Your territory?"Hissed a greenish tom."I'm afraid you are mistaken, the Cloudtree belongs to Leafclan."
He lashed his claws,scaring the ginger tom's face as he let out a yelp of pain.The two toms rolled to the edge of a small cliff when suddenly,one more Leafclan cat joined the fight.A golden tom with striking blue eyes came to rescue the flame colored cat.Then two more Waterclan cats came to help Flamerain.The Leafclan deputy was greatly outnumbered and called his clan to retreat.
"This is not over yet," He yelled."Retreat!"
Is voice was full of defiance.A she-cat with jet black ears stood up and shouted loud enough for the whole forest to hear.
"That's right,run away like the cowards you are!"
The moon was high in the sky and the leaf-bare season wind was blowing silently.A blue-gray tom stood on the peak of a silver rock,his eyes focused on Silverpelt.His fur brissled when he heard the sound of russling leaves behing him.He unsheated his claws and sniffed the air,ready to battlewhatever was waiting to attack.His fur then lay flat when a gray tom with spotted paws emerged from the shadows.
"Spottedclaw." He sighed,relieved to see no danger around.
"Falconstar," The tom replied."Blueheart had been severely injured in battle.He cannot leave camp for a moon."
It was nothing but bad news for the Waterclan leader,yet he intended to be strong no matter what.
"We are in need of apprentices," He pointed out."So me can make new wa- rriors and be a stronger clan.We can't protect our kits properly without them."
For a few moments,silence reigned.The Waterclan leader let out a sigh of pain and agony.A star the lighted up the dark sky and nearly made the tom spring to his feet.The cat by his side then broke the silence with soft-spoken words.
"Vaporfur gave birth to two kits."Said the gray tom,hoping to chear up his leader's heart.Another star shone trough the dark clouds.
"A message from Starclan?"Asked Falconstar.
"Yes,it is," The medecine cat sighed."The moon and the ash from a flame, the sun and a fang from a snake with no name.A small web might suffice, to heal the toughest wounds that will come in the clans future fights." He said. "Lead by the stars,guided by the moon,shall they save every cats lives from peril."
"How could that be possible?" Questioned the puzzled tom.
"I don't know," Replied Spottedclaw "But that is what they tell me."
Falconstar was deep in thought.What do they mean by this?Could Starclan be trying to tell us that we would all soon die?Is there no hero among us? The tom was very confused with what the cat beside him just recited.He could not believe that these things could make his clan stronger.A chilly breeze whipped the felines fur like branches in a storm.The toms shaked not of fear,but because it was quite cold.Fallen leaves danced in the sky gracefuly ,twisting and turning.
"Leaf-fall has come." Falconstar sighed.

8DD WHEEE!! xD Yay! ^_^ I would post one, but mine's in its development stage. I want it to be as close as it can to the real thing, so it's taking awhile. Plus, it's not as easy to organize clans, their relations, and the trees, ranking, etc. as some of you might think. o.o

"Wake up mother!" Shouted two kits,one a dark blue-gray and the other golden yellow.
"Alright,i'm coming." Yawned a blue-gray she-cat with black spots on her forehead.A golden yellow tom was stretching it's legs on the other side of the clearing.The kits ran towards him and jumped on his back. When they soon calmed down,he gave them both an affectionate lick between the ears.
"So your finally ready to become apprentices,right my kits?" He said, with a look of pride in his eyes.
"Yup,and weir going to be the greatest warriors ever!" Said Moonkit. Moonkit and Sunkit were both ready to train as hard their new mentors would push them.But they would have to hunt down a mouse before the ceremony to prove that their ready.
"You will have to leave soon my dears," Said the she-cat named Vaporfur. "You have to come back with a mouse before moonhigh or else you will never become an apprentice."
The kits were so excited that they couldn't hold themselves in place.Then another cat joined their conversation.It was the clan leader,Falconstar.He was very proud that his grandkits were ready to train.
"Your mother is right," Falconstar wispered."I will announce the others of your departure once Dewfoot and Flamerain return from the dawn patrol."
A familiar scent swept trough the fields.The kits lifted their noses up in the air and suddenly ran towards a shadow near the entrance to camp.They came out of the entrance tunnel followed by two other cats.
"These two are amazing!" Said Flamerain,a ginger tom with black stripes.
"Yes,i think they'll do fine during the test." Said a grey tom.
Falconstar climbed on top of a large silver stone.He was about to announce the news when a sudden growl was heard,coming from the entrance.Flamerain and Blueheart ran towards the sound and entered the forest.After a few heart- beats they walked into the clearing,followed by two cats and a kit.
"They were resting near the abandoned fox den." Flamerain claimed.
Falconstar approched the cats with precaution,afraid that they would attack. But he soon calmed down when he realised that they were all worn out and tired.
"Did they attack you?" Falconstar replied.
"No," That voice came from Blueheart this time."They begged us to take them to you."
"What?" Said Falconstar,with a perplexe look on his face.
Moonkit and Sunkit were playing happily with some other kits,ignoring the conversation.Sunkit was running happily,chasing her sister with excitement.As her sister turned around,Sunkit jumped over her and ran into the stranger kit.His gaze met with her's as Sunkit was backing away from him.
"Hi,i'm Snakekit," Said the tom. "What's your name?"
Moonkit was watching the whole thing as her sister was trying to speak.Moonkit approached them and decided to answer the question for her sister.
"Her name is Sunkit," The she-kit said. "And i'm Moonkit."
"Pleasure to meet you Sunkit,and you too Moonkit." Snakekit replied. "What lovely names you have."
"T-thank you S-Snakekit" Said Sunkit.
Both sisters were very shy,but after a moment they would soon warm up to any stranger.Their conversation was soon interrupted by Lynxflight,a white she-cat with gray spots.
"Stay away from them Snakekit," She hissed."They could hurt you."
She put her paw in front of them,making sure that the she-kits wouldn't hurt her son.But Vaporfur went to defend their sides.
"I assure you,my kits won't hurt him." Vaporfur said calmly.
"Why have you come here?" That was Falconstar,questionning the black tom in front of him.
"We need a place to stay," The tom replied."We have been exiled from our clan for our kit is a half-blood."
Falconstar stared at the kit for a few moments,and he knew that he would regret it if he sent the helpless kit and his parents away.They were exhausted and most probably starved to death.
"Tell us,hold old is your kit?" Asked Falconstar.
Everyone seemed shocked at that question,especially Flamerain.After a few moments of hesitation,the she-cat finally spoke.
"He is six moons old," She said hesitantly. "No more,no less."
The Waterclan leader looked satisfied with her answer.He was willing to make him an apprentice of Waterclan.
"Very well then,you may stay." He said,still staring at Snakekit.
Nearly the whole clan seemed shocked about his compassion towards them. Snakekit smiled at Sunkit,who turned her head around shyly(sp?).Moonkit pushed the golden she-kit towards him with a mischievious smile on her face,muttering a few words to her.
"Go ask him Sunkit," She whispered. "He just might accept."
Lynxflight watched the kits amusingly as she approached her son.She whispered a few comforting words into Snakekit's ear,knowing that he was quite nervous around she-cats.Sunkit and Snakekit were now face to face,only a few tail-lengths away from each other.
"Would you like to hunt with us for the test?" The golden she-kit asked.
"Of course,I would love to." He said nervously.
Then Falconstar climbed on top of the silver rock,letting out a yowl.The three kits trotted to the foot of the rock.
"As you all know,we have three new members in our clan.One of them is ready to become an apprentice.So he will join me,Sunkit and Moonkit in the forest."He announced.
He jumped off the stone and landed right in front of Lynxflight and Darktree.
"That is,if you allow us to." He continued.
The two cats looked at eachother for a few heart beats,and nodded accordingly.
"Yes Falconstar," Replied Darktree."He may go with you."
"Very well then," He said,turning towards the kits."Come,all three of you.We must leave."
The kits dashed to the entrance,happily running.Falconstar soon left as well,sniffing the air for any danger.
Chapter ll
The forest was quiet and peaceful.A soft breeze blew slowly into the fields nearby.A little mouse was quietly nibbling a few berries when suddenly,a shadow past by.The mouse lifted it's head up,nervously sniffing the dew filled air.A twig cracked and the sound of it echoed trough the woods.It's ears lifted quickly as a rustling noise was heard.Slowly,the little creature moved closer to the bushes,for if something were to attack him,he would run for cover.Everything was silent again and the mouse continued to chew on the red,jewel-like fruit.A strange scent swept trough the forest,wich alarmed the mouse once again.A few moments later,the mouse ran into the wide fields because he was being chased by a felinic figure.The cat then picked up the pace,trying to snatch it's prey.It's whiskers twitched to the smell of mud.It slowed down being careful not to trip and fall,but so did the mouse.They both hopped on top of the large stones as they approached the river.As they came closer to it,the rocks became a bit more slippery.Or more like they became more dangerous to walk on.The cat tripped and stumbled down a small hill and fell into the river.But luckily,it swam to the ridge and shaked all the water off her fur.The mouse fled quickly to it's den.The cat was soon joined by several others,all with worried expressions on their faces.
"Moonkit!" Shouted a golden she-kit."You know very well that the river is very dangerous at this time of the year!."
Moonkit was shivering slightly,but the cool wind somehow warmed her up.
"I know that!" She replied bitterly."I'm not like that mouse-brained Grasspaw!."
"Moonkit,you must be respectful towards Grasspaw.She was a fine apprentice" Said a blue-gray tom,with a sad look on his face.
"I'm sorry grandfather.It's just that it was kind of stupid what she did;risking her life for a fox kit." Moonkit said,having a hint of sorrow in her voice.
Falconstar glanced at his grand-daughter for a few moments and finally broke the silence with comforting words.
"She only saved it because she wanted to give it a chance.You remember what she always said,right?" Asked the Waterclan leader.
"Yes,all life has value." Replied Moonkit. "I'll never forget those words.She was such a wise cat.I miss her so much."
The cats walked towards four large stones.Above them was a giant oak tree.It's leave swayed to the silent wind.All cats that live in the forest call it the Element Tree.It contained the spirits and was named after the first wild cats to roam these plains:Water,Leaf,Snow and Breeze.They were the founders of all four clans and they made the warrior code successfully.The cats ran towards the large tree.It was even more impressive from up close.The kits then changed direction,all on high alert for any ennemies or prey.Sunkit spotted a mouse not far from where they were,and so crept up on it.She pounced and landed right on top of it,gave a quick nip on the neck and padded happily towards her grandfather.
"Wow Sunkit!That was some leap!" Meowed Snakekit,padding up to the bright colored she-cat.
Sunkit walked proudly towards the others,with the mouse dangling in her mouth,her expression full of pride.It was her first prey,and she caught it in one shot.Her sister,Moonkit,was also quite impressed about how she was able to keep her balance.Falconstar then spoke up,annoucing something quite a bit unsual.
"Alright children,we must go to the trees near the twoleg place.I want you to meet someone.Especially you Moonkit."
"But why especially me?" Then asked Moonkit. "I told you grand-father:I will not go with you anywhere not unless you tell me where we're going."
"Can't you listen to Falconstar for once?" Sighed Sunkit,her head hung low fom all the exhaustion.
"Fine," She hissed. "But this is the last time i'm going on some adventure with you grand-father."
Falconstar chuckled.Moonkit was always so stubborn,but still very kind.She never really liked going too far from camp,mostly because she's never been farther then the lake.It was her first time.But she was also worried for Snakekit.He was just a new member of the clan and he didn't know anything about they're territorie.She knew that he would be very uncomfortable being in this land unknown to him,but he seemed as if he had been here for moons.And so they went.It was not long till they reached the lake,then the pine trees near the twoleg-place.They stopped at a small clearing surrounded by little bushes full of flowers that were very unfamilar to the kits.Moonkit got used to the strange place after a few moments,but Snakekit and Sunkit were still crouching down to the ground.She ran through the trees and bushes,lifting her head up high,as if she was flying.But a gray figure flashed in front of her.She tripped on a stone but soon got up and started following it's trail,thinking it was a mouse.The figure picked up the pace,suddenly realising that it was being followed.Panting hard,the blue-gray she-cat dashed once more before going into a huge leap,landing straight ontop of that thing.It let out a yelp of pain,struggling to get free.
Chapter 3 Moonkit felt the figure trying to wriggle viciously out of her grasp,but she held it firm. Her vision was suddenly obscured with pools of a beautiful,shimmering blue.She retracted her claws that were holding the prey.But it wasn't a mouse or a vole that she had jumped on;It was a cat.A yell was heard,coming from behind her.The kit quickly sprang to her paws at the sound of an unknown she-cat's voice,obviously worried.
"Ash! Are you alright? Did that cat hurt you?" The she-cat asked so many questions to the gray cat Moonkit had mistaken as prey.She felt a sudden familiar presence around her.Turning her head towards the rustling bushes in front of her,she opened her jaw slightly to drink in the scent of the surrounding air.Vaporfur emerged from the shadows,holding a bunch of roots in her mouth.She let out a gasp as she spotted the purple-gray she-cat that stood in front of her,the roots falling from her jaw.
"Sparkle?" Vaporfur said,a mix of shock and curiosity in her voice.Sparkle jerked her head towards the blue-gray she-cat at the sound of her name.The same shocked and curious expression traced across her features,for she could not believe what she saw.
"Vaporfur? Is that you?" She asked with the same tone.Approaching the she-cat cautiously,unsure if it really was Vaporfur,a small nervous smile spread across her lips. Moonkit and that other cat,apparently named Ash,watched them go closer and closer to each other.Falconstar,Sunkit and Snakekit suddenly jumped out of the bushes,searching for Moonkit.Two other cats appeared from right behind Ash.One was a gray tom with black spots and the other looked almost exactly like Sparkle,only her pelt was a bit lighter.A scream of joy escaped from the two dumb-struck she-cats. Bounding with excitement,they nudged eachother in the flank.Vaporfur kept on asking questions to her friend.
"I can't believe it's really you Sparkle! It's been a while since we last saw eachother." Vaporfur cried out. "Oh Vaporfur,you look as dazzling as the last time you came to visit me with Blueheart." Sparkle yelped in reply,with a hint of mockery.
Falconstar stepped foward,and so did the gray cat with the spots.
"Sparkle,Patch,how have you been lately?" He asked.
"We've been doing great,Falconstar." The tom replied. "And you?"
"Fine,actually." Vaporfur replied quickly. "Oh wait.I would like you to meet my kits." The two kittypets glanced at eachother,both bewildered.Vaporfur padded to her kits ,nudging them in the side.Sunkit hissed and complained,but Moonkit let her mother be.They finally came to halt at the foot of the she-cat.On the other side of the clearing, Patch prodded Ash and the other she-cat gently to the two she-kits.
"Hello there.I'm Sparkle,and this is Patch.We're friends of your mother and father.And your grand-father"
After that introduction,all four kits remained silent.Snakekit was twitching his tail nervously but broke the awkward silence.
"Hello,my name is Snakekit.This is Sunkit and Moonkit." He answered,pointing his muzzle at them.He knew he shouldn't have interupted.It was a mistake to do so,but the silence made him nervous.
"Well hello there Snakekit.Who's kit are you?" Patch said cordially.Snakekit hesitated for a moment,glancing at Sunkit from time to time. Sunkit shot out of her daze and responded quickly.
"He's from Leafclan.He left his clan because he is half-blood.His parents have joined us along with him."
The two kittypets stared at the kit in disbelief.Vaporfur padded swiftly over to them,not sure if that was the right thing to say.Meanwhile,Ash,Moonkit and that other she-cat were having a little conversation further away.
"H-hi there.M-my name's A-ash. W-what's yours?" The tom said.God is she beautiful or what? Ash thought to himself,amazed at how beautiful Moonkit was.
"Moonkit.My n-name is Moonkit." She tried to sound calm,and yet she failed miserably at hiding her shyness. I have to admit,he is quite handsome.Wait?! What am I saying!? I promised myself I would never love another cat! She shook her head wildly,remembering the tom she once loved.Webby,the purple-gray she-kit,spoke up to greet the Waterclan soon-to-be apprentice.
"Hello,Moonkit.This is my brother Ash,as you might already know.I'm Webby.It's a pleasure to meet the grand-daughter of the great Waterclan leader."She said,nudging her brother in the ear.But Ash only had eyes for Moonkit.Webby noticed this,and smirked evily,sneaking up quietly behind her dear brother.
